"Making things that feel true — in whatever form they take."
Aisling Holian
Aisling Holian is an Irish artist, designer, and performer based in Ireland. Her work is rooted in a deep curiosity about the human form, the power of colour, and the stories we carry in our bodies.
Her visual art is immediately recognisable — vivid, electric, and emotionally charged. Working with neon palettes of purple, magenta, and cyan against deep dark grounds, she creates portraits and figures that feel alive with energy and presence. The Storm Collection (2024–2025) has become her most celebrated body of work to date, with the title piece becoming a signature image known by collectors and followers worldwide.
Beyond the canvas, Aisling extends her art into wearable form. Her silk scarves — most notably the Excuse Me design — have become beloved objects that bring her paintings into everyday life. Each scarf is a wearable artwork, a piece of the studio carried out into the world.
As a performer, Aisling brings the same intensity and presence to live work. Her performance practice is interdisciplinary — drawing on TV/Film/Theatre, movement, and visual art — and always places the body at the centre of the work.
She works with galleries, theatres, and organisations across Ireland and internationally, creating work that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
Practice
01
Painting, drawing, and mixed-media works that explore identity, the body, and the electric charge of human presence. Known for vivid neon palettes and expressive, gestural mark-making.
02
Art that moves with you. Aisling's silk scarves — including the iconic Excuse Me — bring her paintings into everyday life, blurring the line between gallery and wardrobe.
03
Editorial, branding, and visual communication rooted in a fine-art sensibility. Every design decision is intentional, expressive, and deeply considered.
04
Live and interdisciplinary work that places the body at the centre of the artwork. Theatre, movement, and presence as medium.
Philosophy
"Art should feel alive — electric, urgent, and impossible to ignore."
"The body is always the subject, even when it isn't in the frame."
"Darkness and light are not opposites — they are collaborators."
"Making things that feel true, in whatever form they take."
